Reason: Floating, unable to dive.

BIO: Mike is the name of the boater that found this 109 pound loggerhead floating and unable to dive. With the assistance of the coast guard the turtle was picked up and brought to the Turtle Hospital for treatment. While Mike has a healthy body weight, it seems like he has been floating for a while. A little bit of algae and barnacles growing on the shell is normal, but Mike had quite a bit. Mike had to have the barnacles removed from its shell so we could get a clear x-ray. Then off to a bath to remove the lice and worms that were living and feeding on this turtle.
