It’s a Race to the Bottom!

Francis, 160lbs., tries to dive below the surface.

Our two largest patients, female Loggerheads Francis and Archer, are at the final stages of rehab! Both turtles were rescued at the very end of January due to intestinal blockages. After two months of hard work, b…oth turtles are now healthy, except for a bit of intestinal gas which causes their rear end to float at the surface.

Archer and Francis get exercise after breakfast in neighboring tanks.

With the help of Bean-o, a healthy diet, and some good exercise, we expect them to be able to regularly rest on the bottom within the next week! Once their blood chemistry is perfect and they are able to rest on the bottom, they can be cleared for release!
