Turtle “Swimmies”

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Two of our newest patients, JoJo and Ben, are suffering with an all too familiar problem: intestinal blockages. Gas from infection causes the turtles to float on their side, making it hard to swim and even breathe. By attaching foam to the shell, the turtle can float even at the surface and get around easier. By keeping them level, it also helps alleviate pressure on the digestive system so they can get better faster!
