Cary

Cary

This Loggerhead sea turtle was found floating in a canal in North Key Largo on January 1, 2004. Unable to dive, Cary had not eaten in a very long time. Cary was extremely underweight and lethargic. X-rays revealed that Cary had an intestinal impaction which means fecal matter could not be excreted. When there is a build up of fecal matter in the intestine, large pockets of gas can form which will cause turtle to float. Cary will be staying with us for 4-6 months. During this time, Cary will receive fluids and antibiotics intravenously. Mineral oil, Metamucil, and Beano will be added to her food.
