The Turtle Hospital. Rescue, Rehab, Release.

Arrival: 9/14/13

Species: Green

Weight: 20 lbs.

Reason: FP, boat strike

Gender: Female

Moses was found floating after being hit by a boat, as well as having some small Fibropapilloma tumors. The boat strike punctured her lung, but luckily she was found right after it happened and before too much water could get in. She was dry-docked for the first 2 weeks, allowing her lung to heal. Then we were able to attach stainless steel plates to her shell to allow the shell to heal. At this point, the boat strike is completely healed and we are waiting for her to be tumor-free for 1 year before she’s released.
